Newly installed or existing earthing systems are checked against the design and present regulations via inspection and measurement of their condition.
Typical tasks include electromagnetic location of the
buried electrode, comparisons to earthing records, checking the adequacy of site interconnections, equipment connections and fence assessments.
The extent of the audit can vary from visual inspection through to bonding measurements on every structure and a sample of joints, to check that a new installation is correct.
